Lead Aide II POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Academic & Behavioral Support - Assists the teacher with implementing the students' Individual Education Plans (IEP) - Able to understand and implement a BIP - Provides instructional support in content areas, as directed by the teacher - Participate in, and/or facilitate recreational activities of various sorts (i.e. athletic, arts, and crafts, off-campus trips, cultural awareness, etc.). - Implement provided written assignments, as needed - Document and report all legal, education, and service records/files as needed - Supports in record keeping, as directed by the teacher - Implements the classroom or social behavior management system, including coaching students so that they can quickly return to school tasks Scheduling - Assist with the staffing of aides based on absences, late arrivals, and/or early departures - Support with placement of subs as necessary - Notify the teachers prior to a sub placement Student Support "Kits" - Assist with maintaining "Kits" used both in training and for continued student/staff support - Ensure the "Kits" include documents regarding students and various resources for the aides to use daily such as service and break logs - Assist with distribution of "Kits" to behavioral aides Skill Competencies - Review and evaluate the performance of all staff members to ensure the proper implementation of treatment/behavioral plans daily. - Assists other personnel as may be required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities. - Collaborate with school personnel with behavior support strategies. Active Supervision - Review all IEPs, ISAs, BIPs and BERs/Incident Reports for files to ensure compliance with Behavioral Aides - Helps maintain the physical school environment to keep it functional, safe, and clean - Supervises students during class breaks and during lunch - Assist students with eating, using the bathroom and moving from one classroom to another - Maintain consistent awareness of client's whereabouts to ensure safety, including directing clients to appropriate groups or areas in the community or school. Including but not limited to, transportation transitions - Reports daily attendance of students and staff to Supervisor - Assist with collection of staff monthly service and break logs - Complete other responsibilites as assigned OBJECTIVES OR GOALS TO MEASURE PERFORMANCE: - Confidentiality - Adherence to Company policies and procedures - Accurate work product - Timeliness in completing assignments - Positive team attitude - Taking initiative in unassigned tasks - Staff development and training - Improved personal professional growth and education - Demonstration of good decision making - Positive customer service attitude and communications - Excellent attendance and punctuality MINIMUM SKILLS OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: - High School Diploma, equivalent or two-year degree or equivalent combinations of training and experience - Experience working in a school or treatment setting for students with learning or social/emotional problems as a Lead Aide I - DOJ/FBI Live Scan Background & TB Clearance - Pro-Act, CPI and/or CPR certification helpful - Working knowledge of standard business practices and procedures - Computer-literate; knowledge of standard company software applications, internet - Effective interpersonal skills - Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage multiple tasks - Problem-solving ability and proven accuracy with detailed information - Proficient written and verbal English language communication skills, including business writing and professional telephone manner - Reliability, dependability and flexibility WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS: - Occasional exposure to dust, pollen and fumes - Requires frequent reaching, handling, sitting, standing, walking, hearing, talking, stooping, bending, crouching, kneeling, running, carrying and lifting 50 or more lbs. - Must be able to see and hear within normal range with or without correction. - The noise intensity level is moderate to high *This job description reflects management's assignment of essential job functions; it does not prescribe or restrict the tasks that may be assigned PQI is an Equal Opportunity Employer and considers all qualified applicants regardless of race, gender, color, religion, national origin, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, disability, veteran status or other classification protected by law.
