Exempt Job Summary: The Director of Development is responsible for
overseeing the development team, pipeline, managing project steps
from concept through operations, securing partnerships, obtaining
funding for new development projects, and collaborating with the
President and other Directors for team-wide processes and
initiatives. Duties & Responsibilities: - Own and drive the full
development pipeline from concept to operations, including land
acquisition, funding applications, land use entitlements,
construction management, vendor contracts, operations planning,
etc. - Secure funding for new development projects by building
strategic relationships - Conduct business in accordance with Fair
Housing, Americans with Disabilities Act, and other regulatory
guidelines - Collaborate with the President and Real Estate Manager
to optimize team-wide processes and initiatives - Lead and mentor a
team of Project Managers, managing their workloads and driving
their professional development - Develop and maintain positive
relationships with all stakeholders, including funders, agencies,
investors, architects, general contractors, and service providers -
Perform financial modeling and analysis - Manage project budgets
and schedules - Develop and implement risk management strategies
Required Skills & Abilities: - Strong knowledge of affordable
housing project management, including development finance, funding
applications, land use entitlements, and vendor management -
Ability to quickly establish trust and credibility with investors,
partners, and stakeholders. - Demonstrates relentless drive to
identify and secure new opportunities - Proficiency in real estate
financial modeling - Excellent written and verbal communication
skills - Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks
simultaneously - Strong leadership skills and ability to mentor and
manage a team of Project Analysts - Strategic thinking and
problem-solving abilities - Attention to detail and ability to
manage project timelines and budgets - Collaborative work style
with the President, Real Estate Manager, and other team members -
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced organizations with competing
priorities - Knowledge of development team processes and ability to
implement and improve them as needed - Ability to travel as needed
Requirements: Education & Experience: - Bachelor's degree in a
related field such as Real Estate, Finance, or Business
Administration, or related field (preferred) - At least 5 years of
experience in affordable housing project management, including
development finance, land use entitlements, and vendor management
