TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified
Pediatrics RN in Oakland, California, 94609! Job Title: Registered
Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Pediatric PACU Duration: 9
weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 4 hours Experience: Minimum of 2
years of PACU experience. Minimum of 5 years in pediatric nursing.
License: California RN License required. Certifications: ACLS, BLS,
PALS required. Must-Have: Prior travel experience within the last
12 months. Prior teaching hospital experience preferred.
Description: Seeking a Registered Nurse in the Pediatric Post
Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU). The nurse will provide comprehensive
care to pediatric patients recovering from anesthesia. Experience
in managing arterial lines, dysrhythmia recognition and management,
and blood product administration is essential. The role involves
central line care and management, administration of IV
vasopressors, and utilization of narcotics/opioid analgesics.
Knowledge of reversal agents and external ventricular drain (EVD)
management will be beneficial. Candidates should be skilled in ICP
monitoring and care of ventilated patients. Other responsibilities
include conscious sedation and post-epidural management. The nurse
will be involved in pain assessment and management, including PCA
pump management. Familiarity with the Richmond Agitation Sedation
Scale (RASS) and care across various specialties such as
bariatrics, ENT, general, gynecological, neurological,
ophthalmology, orthopedic, and vascular is needed. Must have
knowledge of malignant hyperthermia protocol. This position
requires collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to ensure
optimal patient outcomes. All candidates must comply with COVID-19
vaccination and booster requirements. Floating to different
departments, units, or facilities may occur. Travel pairs are
permitted but typically not on the same unit. Modules are included
in non-billable hours and will be completed during pre-start and
