registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1 years Stepdown RN
experience required. Applicants who do not meet these
qualifications will not be considered. Provide expert nursing care
in a Surgical Stepdown setting located in Arnold, MO, focusing on
post-operative and high-acuity patients requiring close monitoring
and advanced clinical skills. This contract opportunity offers
night shifts with flexible guaranteed hours to match your
availability, supporting your work-life balance. Responsibilities:
Deliver direct patient care to post-op and high-acuity surgical
patients, including trauma and cardiac cases. Perform assessments,
planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care. Monitor
and manage patients on BiPAP and cardiac drips. Collaborate with
multidisciplinary teams for coordinated patient care. Maintain
patient confidentiality and uphold professional nursing standards.
Float to other departments with similar or lower acuity as needed.
Qualifications: Current RN license eligible or active in Missouri.
Minimum 2 years of Stepdown or ICU nursing experience. BLS and ACLS
certifications by AHA. Strong critical thinking, time management,
and problem-solving skills. Positive attitude and team-oriented
mindset. Shift and Schedule: Night shift: 1900 to 0730 Weekend
coverage as required, approximately every other weekend Flexible
guaranteed hours: 36 or 48 hours per week Additional Information:
The role requires standing, walking, bending, lifting (up to 50
lbs.), and physical stamina. Adherence to dress code:
Mercy-approved scrub top/jacket with logo and black scrub pants.
Flu vaccination or approved exemption required from November
