Job Description:
Year Up is seeking an Application Development Career Training
Program Instructor to join our passionate team dedicated to
bridging the opportunity divide for young adults. This role
involves educating and mentoring students through a structured
curriculum and helping them develop the skills necessary for
careers in application development. The ideal candidate will have
robust knowledge in programming languages, development tools, and
modern methodologies. As an instructor, you will play a key role in
shaping the futures of enthusiastic young adults by providing them
comprehensive theoretical knowledge and practical insights into the
application development world. Deliver engaging and comprehensive
lectures on application development topics Guide students through
coding exercises and project-based learning Evaluate student
progress and provide constructive feedback Stay updated with the
latest trends in application development and education
methodologies Collaborate with other instructors and administrators
to enhance the curriculum Mentor students on career possibilities
and networking strategies in the tech industry Facilitate a
supportive and inclusive learning environment Proficiency in
multiple programming languages such as Java, Python, or JavaScript
Strong understanding of software development life cycles and
methodologies Experience with databases and cloud technologies
Capability to explain complex concepts clearly and effectively
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Certifications in
relevant programming languages or development platforms are
preferred (e.g., Oracle Certified Java Developer, Microsoft
Certified Solutions Developer). Teaching certification in the
relevant state (if applicable) is a plus.
