Job Summary
Under the general direction of the Executive Director, the IACUP
Training & Compliance Analyst works closely with the IACUC, Office
of Ethics and Compliance management, Office of Research management,
veterinarians and veterinary staff and is directly supervised by
the IACUP Training and Compliance Supervisor. The incumbent is
responsible for the planning, development, implementation and
integration of ongoing training programs, including but not limited
to advanced training and specialized training in research
techniques involving the use of laboratory animals. In addition,
the incumbent assures compliance with applicable Federal and state
regulations and University policies and procedures by participation
in the Post-Approval Monitoring Program through activities such as
procedure observations and records reviews to ensure procedures
conform to protocols.
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional
approvals based on UC policy.Your placement within the salary range
is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience
and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF.
For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement
within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the
collective bargaining agreement.The salary range for this position
is $87,500 - $131,300 (Annual Rate).To learn more about the

Department Description
UCSF is an accredited institution with the Association for the
Assessment and Accreditation for Laboratory Animal Care (AAALAC), a
voluntary accreditation organization. The Institutional Animal Care
and Use Program (IACUP) is responsible for all compliance related
activities surrounding the care and use of animals on this campus.
The ethical, regulatory, and policy regulations include the United
States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Animal Welfare Act and
Regulations (AWAR), the USDA Animal Care Policies, the Public
Health Service (PHS) Policy on Humane Care and Use of Laboratory
Animals, and the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Guide for the
Care and Use of Laboratory Animals, all of which are encompassed in
University Policy to ensure the highest standards of animal care
and use. UCSF has established an Institutional Animal Care and Use
Program whose mission is to provide: * Support for the review and
approval of animal protocols * Training to the research community
and the Laboratory Animal Resource Center * Regulatory compliance
oversight for the program * Coordination of the process for ongoing
accreditation with the AAALAC organization.
