Job Description:
Destiny Packaging, a Bunzl agricultural company is seeking a
Packaging and Quality Control Manager. This position is expected to
oversee all internal and external quality standards and procedures,
ensuring excellence across incoming products from import domestic
production for the Salinas and Yuma warehousing facilities. This
position consists of regularly visiting vendors to deliver
comprehensive training and implement robust quality procedures,
while confirming that all vendors proactively adopt effective
strategies to prevent potential quality challenges. Furthermore,
the ideal candidate will be responsible for consistently conducting
field and production film trials and partnering with the sales team
during routine customer visits to deliver technical expertise and
exceptional support. Responsibilities: Conduct routine inspections
of harvesting fields and production facilities to address and
resolve customer complaints related to flexible packaging. When
required, support the introduction of new products in development,
such as films for VFFM, commodity bags, or other flexible packaging
solutions, whether during trials at customer facilities or
throughout the vendor production period. Consistently join the
sales team on sales calls to offer expert technical support and
enhance customer interactions. Collaborate with all vendors to
standardize quality procedures across both international and
domestic vendors. Train and develop employees on quality control
methods, inspection techniques, quality standards and customer
needs. Communicate daily with peers regarding quality,
productivity, and continuous improvement activities. Conduct
inspection for products from the incoming Import and Domestic
shipments or existing inventory. First point of contact for team
leaders in escalating process of quality problems or concerns
Provide inspection updates so the team is notified with inspection
results. Lead root cause problem solving exercises for internal and
external quality issues. Process DMR’s and follow through until
vendors have issued credit for defective products. Constantly
searching for improvement and continually seek to eliminate waste.
Communicate and support the sales team, and coordinate with the
operations and purchasing teams to address quality issues in a
timely manner. Approximately 75% of time will be spent on the
warehouse floor, harvesting fields, and/or supplier production
facilities. Requirements: High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor’s
degree preferred 5 or more years of experience in Flexible
Packaging Manufacturing Industry 5 or more years overseeing Quality
Control Supervisory experience preferred Bilingual English/Spanish
a plus Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Strong
troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Demonstrated ability to
motivate others to achieve quality and productivity goals and work
in a team environment Demonstrated ability to initiate and
